Academic Decathlon
Monroe's Academic Decathlon Team is comprised of students from all grade levels and all walks of life. This team competes in a ten-event scholastic competition annually. The events include two speeches, an interview, an essay, and 7 comprehensive exams.
We compete against 62 LAUSD high schools. Each high school enters a team of nine students: 3 Honor students (3.750 - 4.00 GPA), 3 Scholastic students (3.00 - 3.749 GPA), and 3 Varsity students (0.00 - 2.999 GPA).
Every year we are given a different theme. The theme for the 2018–2019 Academic Decathlon is The 1960s: A Transformational Decade.
