LSLC - Local School Leadership Council
Our Local School Leadership Council is comprised of all stakeholders: students, parents, community partners, classified, certificated, and administrative staff. The number of members of our local council shall consist of sixteen (16) stakeholders. Fifty percent (50%) of the Council shall be comprised of the UTLA Chapter Chair and certificated employees elected by the certificated bargaining unit employees at the site; the other 50% shall be comprised of the principal, elected parent/community representatives, an elected non-certificated employee representative and a student representative. On our councils there are five (5) positions for parent/community representatives.
Decisions are by consensus or, if consensus cannot be reached, by majority vote.
- "Shared decision making"--which refers to how certain local policy decisions are made at the school site, taking into consideration the respective interests, roles and responsibilities of the site administrator, the faculty, the parents/community, students, and other employees, and
- "School based management"--which refers to the nature and scope of policy decisions to be made at the local school level as compared to the central District level, in an effort to reform or restructure the operations of the local school.
Our Local School Leadership meets monthly on Tuesdays at 3:30pm via Zoom.
